I fell in love with Raku, a programming language. For this modern language, they wrote a test suite. Implement the language in any way you like (C++, assembler, whatever), just as long as it passes the formally defined test suite, its spec Raku. It's a novel approach. Very elegant in practice.

Your lists for "High Conviction Progressives: The Roosevelts" should be PLE Metamodernism's test suite. Test policy & subsequent outcomes against the suite, fail a section -- hard "nope, try again".

(PS. Python? What the hell is everyone thinking? Might as well YAML everything while we're at it. I guess they just don't know.)

Very interesting framework. I see stuff that i read in the status games and nexus but your articulation is very easy to understand.

The sad part is that reality doesn’t matter at all. And AI algorithms are promoting fringe BS.

Happy to be able to read something as useful and informal as this at only 21. Not sure how much of your audience is zoomers, but it feels like I can't be the only one.

A very insightful and well-crafted article which was clearly explained Dave. Unfortunately, many do not have the cerebral patience to process it. It's clearly worth the time (and effort), but many are simply not up to the task because they do not read (or think much). More emoting than thinking.

There may be some longer-term solutions that are well outside of the current Overton window at present. If we can enlist AGI/ASI down the road then perhaps we might be able to improve the situation in the following way. I always take great comfort from Jonestown. Those people really fulfilled their destiny. I think there's real potential there. As a method for self-eradication for of all those who are incapable of processing any level of nuance, think there could be a way to get those who do not "do nuance" to embrace a one-way trip to heaven, by their own hand. So, here's my conceptual framework:

Project Jonestown

To shape and enhance human arrogance and stupidity, and channel it into self-destruction.

When a human dies from commitment to the wrong belief it serves all of humanity and all life on the planet in the long run.

The MAGA Cult is ripe for the picking and the grooming. However, really this is true of any group of humans that are incapable of embracing nuance. Why not help them get to heaven? If they are properly conditioned, we know they want to go, especially if they've formed a firm commitment to the concept. AGI/ASI can be a powerfully persuasive ally in this approach. It can make for a win-win-win situation.

Tremendous value here; I’ll definitely be revisiting this article.

I was doing some songwriting this morning, and some of my chain-of-thought for today’s musical topic was very closely related to, “…establish[ing] clear lines between good and evil, right and wrong, us and them, then demonstrate[ing] unshakeable conviction in those divisions through consistent action…”

great elucidation of your ideas here, david, but the simpler explanation is that each of these celebrities is simply performing a core psychological role in the mind of the “culture” at large; they are narratological archetype figures in the same manner as the greek gods: HESTIA, DIONYSUS, and APOLLO all find loose parallels in these three, and the extent to which any world-historical figure gains wide renown and acclaim is largely attributable to the degree in which they fulfill one of these archetypal roles within the cultural subconscious/society writ large…

No, Elon is quite the opposite. He wants to "save humanity" by getting to Mars. He's terrified of AI, but he's not a doomer like that.

Being frustrated with humanity is not quite the same thing as having a death wish. I speak from personal experience... lol
