This video inspired me to try a developmental edit on my own book draft using Grok 3 and it worked out better than I expected. I wrote about it on my rockhoward substack.
Thanks for the suggestion. I plan to rerun this experiment on Perplexity (which is my favorite AI environment) to see if it can perform comparably.
I'd like to see the transcript exist in it's own space, just for editing. After you make edits the model could refresh, but maybe have the context of what was changed. A sort of git type history of changes within your document,.as well as the chat transcript with the previous editing advice.
Arrgh, indeed! This is like watching colored popcorn pop. Which color AI is on top this week? EM and his cut-throat behavior aside...well actually no...I'd rather wait and see who will be better in a few turns of the planet.
I remember when I got a "like" from a ceo I worked for (huge business) and it was absolutely thrilling. I'm not EM fan, but Grok has such a great feel to it, and it's so speedy
Argh, moral obstacles to using EM product. But as I'm noodling my 2nd book, this could be a game changer. Developmental editing is the hardest part next to marketing IMO.
Congrats on your retweet! I understand your reasoning but wonder if his actions and llm might be the beginnings of slick manipulation tactics. Be there, but beware too. As well, I’m sure you are already aware of this possibility.

I had Grok with a one shot make a pretty good sci-fi prologue. Possibly the best I’ve ever read. I’ll still never give Elon money

ChatGPT o1 with reasoning is pretty good too, I found. Not as fast, and not quite as good.
