Agree wrt chatbots getting more argumentative by default - especially ChatGPT IMO.
It also seems unduly inclined to support the 'official narrative', only occasionally conceding that an "official source" saying something doesn't mean that's the whole story, or accepting that 'official documentation' of something is quite possibly biased by institutional interests.
However, other bots are far more syncophantic - I think Gemini starts every response by telling me how clever my query is.
(OTOH, I set ChatGPT to "efficient" and less warm/enthusiastic, so I guess maybe ChatGPT might be nicer to me if I hadn't done that. :-)
